Owls

Welcome to Owls Class!

Owls is our Key Stage 1 class for children in Year 1. Owls Class is taught by Miss Beams.

We enjoy a creative approach to our learning where all of the children’s needs are catered for.

In Owls class we begin to develop the skill of working independently and children are encouraged to find things out for themselves and to challenge and extend their ideas.

The children learn through a range of hands on, practical tasks as well as more formal written activities. We link our learning objectives to our high quality termly themes and the children immerse themselves in their learning.

Some important information:

Learning Logs are sent home every Friday and are due in the following Wednesday.

Spellings are sent home on a Friday. Spelling books are due back on the following Thursday and the children are tested on the Friday.

Please ensure your child has a PE kit in school which includes sensible footwear. PE lessons take place on a Tuesday afternoon. Please also ensure your child has their waterproof trousers and wellies in school at all times. Owls Class go to Forest School on Wednesday afternoons.

Our Autumn term topic is ‘Man on the Moon’.   This topic is history based and the children will be learning about the planets in our Solar System, travel into Space, what life is like on a Space station amongst lots else.

We are looking forward to a fun term ahead!
